Does God want to save me?

God saves you. Period. This is the Truth we know, yet so many of us (including myself) have a really difficult time surrendering our lives to let this crazy love in. We try to have everything we could consume, touch, or buy save us. Save us from what? Regret, heart-break, stress, anxiety, and everything else that this jacked up world has to offer us.

The only thing that can truly save us is our Father, who sent his one and only son so that we wouldn’t perish but have eternal life with him, forever.

When we accept this i n c r e d i b l e gift, we receive a redemptive saving and transformation that can only be found in God Himself.

Hear me again…

God wants to save you and he already did.

My 2015 self wrote something that the every other year “me” never understood.

Lemme give a little glimpse of my testimony:

I didn’t grow up in the church or a “Christian” household. I honestly never had really heard the name of Jesus aside from what I heard other people say about him from time to time. Through coming to the realization at a young age (like most people do) that life isn’t perfect, your family isn’t perfect, and high school wasn’t anything close to what I dreamed it would be after being severely bullied (we can get into that another time) it wasn’t until the end of my high school years where I realized I was messed up, the people around me were messed up, and I desperately needed something different. I desperately needed to be saved.

But let me tell you about how intentional and wild God is.

Funny enough, I began watching Opera’s “Super Soul” Sunday’s during my senior year of high school. I can’t recall much of what I watched, but all I know is that somehow this show lead me to the idea of Jesus and that there was something that loved me more than I could ever know or dream. And it wasn’t some far off distant thing, but an actual God within my every day, pleading to save me and let Him in.

I knew there was a church minutes from my house, so I didn’t even give it a second thought. The following Sunday I went, and went, and went. I literally couldn’t get enough of what I was hearing about this “Jesus.” I was fascinated, wide-eyed, and craved to know more each week that I was there.

Finally, I gave my life to Jesus and accepted all that He is with all that I had at the time.

Everything that I had ever needed was offered to me and this offer was something I had done absolutely nothing to receive.

Do you see how crazy that is???? My whole life up until that point I didn’t know Jesus but Jesus knew me.

You see, God is love and only HE sets the canvas for everything that is love.

So why wouldn’t he want to save his son or daughter from a destructive place that they feel stuck within? If even an earthly father will go out of his way to do whatever it takes to guide, protect, and save his earthly child, then how much more will your Father in Heaven?

I fully believe it isn’t a decision of whether God will save you, but whether you will surrender yourself to be saved by Him.

As always,

Dig into His word. God is so eager to hear your voice.

Sounds great and all but is this really what the Bible says???

Come see for yourself and dive into these verses 🙂

For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

John 3:16

And now you Gentiles have also heard the truth, the Good News that God saves you. And when you believed in Christ, he identified you as his own by giving you the Holy Spirit, whom he promises long ago.

Ephesians 1:13

In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. 10 In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins

1 John 4:9-10

If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!

Matthew 7:11

So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.

1 John 4:16
